Sitting drinking a glass of wine with friends one night last year we arrived at the idea of opening a Salon de Thé and second-hand books in Anduze. What fun we have had ever since... looking around properties that were affected by the floods, going down streets we did not know existed and then finally one very cold day in February the Mairie informed us about the lease expiring on a shop in Place Notre Dame. The feel good factor returned instantly, we dashed up there, fell in love with the ambience of the building and met our delightful new landlord who has been so inspiring ever since.

Many hiccoughs later we are nearly there. The carrelage is finished, the walls are about to be painted and the kitchen arrives next week and, of course, book shelves will be in place any day now! We are hoping that it will be a centre for both English and French friends to meet and pass a quiet sojourn looking through the books, buying a gateau and having a very special cup of tea. And just loving Place Notre Dame like we do. We also have a few other surprises up our sleeve so we can’t tell you everything.

We are opening on Thursday, 1st July and we will be open from 9.30-5.30 Wednesday- Saturday and during the summer months on a Tuesday night... just follow the pink signs and you will arrive at our SHOP.

See you there! À bientot!
